    Hidden Storage

I just love to design custom built-ins. By their very nature, built-in’s take up minimal space, provide well lit areas for art and accessories, all the while facilitating the need for electronic components in a handsome and well crafted piece of furniture.

Sometimes there’s an even greater issue involved than meets the eye! . . . For example, where can we store those extra Dining chairs when they aren’t in use?

    Let’s see shall we? . . . . . . . .

    SURPRISE!!
In order to open this hidden doorway, it was necessary to design the arched top shelf to remain stationary while the rest of the cabinet swings into the available space underneath the staircase. Notice, each shelf is individually lit. . . even when the bookcase opens. Heavy duty hinges and special electrical conduits made this possible. (As well as a contractor who knows better than to tell me no! ). The finished room inside was painted, carpeted and well lit for ease of use.
